UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in a productive diplomatic visit to Serbia on June 15, 2023. Sheikh Mohamed and President Vucic explored avenues for deepening the alliance between the UAE and Serbia, especially in the sectors of renewable energy, agriculture, food security, technology, artificial intelligence, and trade. This follows the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement inked by the two countries in September 2022, underscoring the remarkable growth in bilateral relations in recent years.

During their exchange in Belgrade, the two heads of state also deliberated over regional and international developments. They reiterated their commitment to fostering peace and stability and underscored the necessity of resolving disputes peacefully. The conversation also highlighted the importance of dialogue and de-escalation efforts in the Western Balkans, promoting regional stability and security.

Sheikh Mohamed had arrived in Serbia earlier in the day, warmly received by President Vucic. Accompanying the UAE President was a high-profile delegation including Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Special Affairs Advisor at the Presidential Court; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; and Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Serbia.
