Olena Zelenska receives $4 million in humanitarian aid from UAE President

The UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met with Olena Zelenska, the First Lady of Ukraine and the Chairwoman of the Olena Zelenska Foundation today. Her visit to the UAE is in connection with the Forbes 30/50 Summit in Abu Dhabi this week. At the Qasr Al Bahr majlis, Sheikh Mohamed received a briefing on the human effects of the Ukrainian crisis, particularly as it relates to children.

Olena Zelenska receives $4 million in humanitarian aid from UAE PresidentThe UAE President directed that $4 million be allocated for the care of children affected by the crisis in support of one of the Foundation’s projects, called “Family-Type Orphanages,” which will contribute to the construction of 10 buildings that will house approximately 100 children.

While emphasizing the need for international and regional efforts to restore security, stability, and peace, he reiterated the UAE’s commitment to Ukraine. The UAE has provided aid to Ukrainian refugees living in neighboring countries, which Zelenska thanked Sheikh Mohamed for. She will meet with members of the Ukrainian community living in the UAE during her visit.
