MENA Newswire News Desk: Honda has unveiled its new 0 Series of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, showcasing the Honda 0 SUV and Honda 0 Saloon prototypes. The production versions of both models are scheduled to launch in North America in 2026, followed by global markets. These vehicles will be manufactured at Honda’s EV Hub in Ohio, reflecting the company’s commitment to advancing electric mobility.

A key highlight of the debut is Honda’s introduction of the ASIMO OS, a new in-house vehicle operating system that builds on the legacy of Honda’s ASIMO robot. Designed to deliver a customized mobility experience, the ASIMO OS will enable ultra-personal optimization and digital user experiences in the Honda 0 Series. Honda has also announced a partnership with Renesas Electronics Corporation to co-develop a high-performance system-on-chip (SoC) for the next generation of 0 Series vehicles, expected to roll out in the late 2020s.

The Honda 0 SUV prototype emphasizes spaciousness and flexibility, featuring a dedicated EV architecture based on the company’s “Thin, Light, and Wise” design philosophy. The SUV’s interior maximizes visibility and comfort, aligning with Honda’s vision to transform EVs into multifunctional spaces for users. It incorporates next-generation technologies, including steer-by-wire systems for integrated control of steering, brakes, and suspension, enhancing driving dynamics.

Production is set to begin in 2026, starting in North America and expanding globally. Meanwhile, the Honda 0 Saloon prototype introduces a low-profile, wedge-shaped design, focusing on bold styling and interior spaciousness. As the flagship of the 0 Series, it features Honda’s Level 3 automated driving technology, providing hands-free driving capabilities under specific conditions. With integrated ASIMO OS and advanced digital systems, the Saloon aims to deliver a personalized and seamless driving experience.

Production of the Saloon model will commence later in 2026, initially in North America. Honda’s automated driving advancements continue to build on its global leadership in the field, having first introduced Level 3 “eyes-off” technology in the Honda Legend in 2021. The company’s AI technologies, including unsupervised learning systems and cooperative AI, aim to expand the scope of autonomous driving and driver assistance systems.

Future OTA (over-the-air) updates will further enhance these capabilities, positioning Honda to offer widespread accessibility to Level 3 features. Honda is also expanding its energy service initiatives, incorporating EV battery integration with smart home technologies. Through its Home Energy Management System and partnerships such as ChargeScape, Honda plans to optimize charging solutions, reduce electricity costs, and minimize environmental impact. Owners of Honda 0 Series vehicles will benefit from features like virtual power plant capabilities, allowing them to store and share energy with the grid, contributing to sustainability goals.

In collaboration with Renesas Electronics, Honda is developing a centralized E/E architecture to power its software-defined vehicles (SDVs). This next-generation platform will consolidate multiple electronic control units (ECUs) into a single core ECU, boosting performance while maintaining energy efficiency. The system’s AI capabilities, expected to reach industry-leading standards, aim to enhance both automated driving and in-car user experiences.

Honda’s 0 Series underscores its strategic push toward zero-emission mobility, integrating cutting-edge technology with user-centric design. With the debut of the ASIMO OS, advanced driving automation, and smart energy solutions, Honda is positioning itself at the forefront of the evolving EV market.
