ACCRA, GHANA / MENA Newswire / – Emirates will add four weekly flights between Dubai and Accra from July 12, increasing its Ghana service to 11 flights a week. The added Dubai Accra flights will operate with the airline’s existing daily service. The move expands seat capacity on one of the airline’s West Africa routes and adds more travel options between Ghana and the United Arab Emirates.

The new Dubai to Accra service will operate as EK789. It will depart Dubai at 03:30 and arrive in Accra at 07:40, using local times. The return service, EK790, will leave Accra at 10:25 and reach Dubai at 22:40. Flights will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Emirates will use Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the additional Ghana flights. Each aircraft will include eight First Class private suites, 42 Business Class lie-flat seats and 304 Economy Class seats. The same aircraft type will support the expanded weekly schedule, giving passengers a consistent cabin layout across the added services.

Additional Ghana capacity

The expanded schedule will raise the airline’s Accra operation from seven to 11 weekly flights. Emirates said the added flights will complement its current daily service and respond to sustained demand on the route. The carrier also said Accra continues to record high seat occupancy throughout the year, based on its route performance.

The flight timings will support connections through Dubai to several destinations across Asia, Australia, the Middle East and North America. Passengers from Accra can connect to Beijing, Seoul, Sydney, Perth, Mumbai, Singapore, New York JFK and Jeddah. The schedule also supports travel to Accra through Dubai from Delhi, Boston, Los Angeles, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Cargo links through Dubai

The additional flights will also increase bellyhold cargo capacity between Accra and Dubai. Emirates SkyCargo handles freight from Ghana through Dubai to global markets. Cargo moving on the route includes fresh cut fruit from Ghana to European cities such as Prague and Zurich. The freight mix also includes electronics, textiles and pharmaceuticals.

Tickets for the new Ghana flights are available through the airline’s website, mobile app, retail offices and travel agents. Emirates has served Ghana for more than 20 years and currently operates direct flights between Accra and Dubai. The July expansion will add four more weekly services while keeping the route focused on passenger travel and cargo movement.
