MENA Newswire News Desk: Air Arabia, the largest low-cost carrier (LCC) operator in the Middle East and North Africa, has announced the resumption of its Sharjah-to-Yanbu route, enhancing its service network across Saudi Arabia. The renewed service, set to begin on November 28, 2024, will connect Sharjah International Airport directly to Prince Abdul Mohsin Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Yanbu, operating twice weekly.

Air Arabia expands Saudi network with new Sharjah-Yanbu route

This addition strengthens Air Arabia’s strategic expansion within the Kingdom, a move aimed at providing affordable and convenient travel options for both leisure and business passengers. By resuming this route, the carrier is responding to growing demand for budget-friendly flights across the region while supporting tourism and economic links between the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, highlighted the significance of the route’s return, noting that it reflects the airline’s commitment to Saudi Arabia as a key market. “We are glad to further expand our presence in the Saudi market from Sharjah. The resumption of this route underscores our commitment to providing travelers with convenient and affordable travel options,” Al Ali remarked. He emphasized the airline’s role in supporting regional tourism and economic activity by expanding access to destinations within the Kingdom.

With the return of Yanbu to its itinerary, Air Arabia now serves 12 destinations in Saudi Arabia from its Sharjah hub. These include prominent cities such as Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina, and Dammam, as well as regional airports like Abha, Al-Jouf, Gassim, Gizan, Hail, Tabuk, and Taif. This extensive network aligns with the airline’s strategic goal of becoming a major conduit for travelers seeking low-cost, reliable travel options in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.

The resumption of this route also underscores Air Arabia’s broader ambitions to support the Saudi Vision 2030, a national initiative aimed at diversifying the Kingdom’s economy and enhancing its tourism sector. By offering increased connectivity, Air Arabia is contributing to the Kingdom’s efforts to attract international visitors and broaden its non-oil economy. As the airline resumes its Yanbu route, it not only provides additional opportunities for passengers traveling within the GCC but also strengthens trade and business connections.
