UAE and Malaysia eye enhanced economic collaboration

In a pivotal encounter at the Qasr Al Shati palace in Abu Dhabi, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE and Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim held in-depth discussions on burgeoning bilateral ties and avenues for future alliances. This meeting underscores the two nations’ dedication to sustainable development and mutual advancement.

Prime Minister Ibrahim passed on salutations from the Malaysian King, His Majesty Al Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al Mustafa Billah Shah, emphasizing Malaysia’s enthusiasm for the sustained growth of the UAE. In reciprocation, President Sheikh Mohamed sent his regards and aspirations for Malaysia’s continued progression and well-being.

Central to the discussions was a review of the current collaborative engagements between the two countries. Both parties acknowledged the profound potential, particularly in pivotal sectors like trade, investment, renewable energy, and food security, which align with their vision of a thriving, sustainable future.

In the economic sphere, there was a strong emphasis on forging a robust economic partnership soon. This vision seeks to solidify the foundation of shared interests and business ventures, heralding a new era of prosperity. Current international and regional developments also featured prominently in their dialogue. Both leaders exchanged insights on various pressing issues, ensuring that their countries’ interests remain aligned on the global stage.

Expressing his gratitude for the UAE’s hospitality, Prime Minister Ibrahim highlighted Malaysia’s eagerness to escalate its collaboration with the UAE, particularly emphasizing economic and developmental sectors. The high-profile meeting saw attendance from esteemed dignitaries, including H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, and the delegation accompanying the Malaysian Prime Minister.
